Which bikes are counting
Every tank behind the counters above, and the bike it came from. The question is worked out one model at a time, so each of these has to clear the bar on its own before any of it adds up to an answer.
What this number can and cannot say
Riders choose their own fuel, so this is not a controlled experiment. It is the same bike, compared against itself, on the tanks its riders actually bought.
The bar
30 clean fills from 10 riders in each side of the comparison, on the same model, with the gap between the sides bigger than the spread inside them. Pooled across the whole catalog only once 5 models have each cleared that on their own and point the same way.
Every tank counted here was logged by a rider, full tank to full tank. Partial fills and missed fills are thrown out before anything is counted. How that works
